Hardware Key Support

It would be awesome if omg.lol added support for hardware keys using FIDO U2F for users wanting a more secure and convenient form of two-factor authentication compared to TOTP.

Cool, I’ll get to this as soon as I can!

omg.lol already supports a superior system: passkeys. I am new to the whole FIDO U2F/hardware keys/security keys/passkeys world, so possibly a dumb question: are there keys that can only act as FIDO U2F authentication keys but not passkeys?

My Yubikey 5C acts as a passkey on omg.lol at the moment.

Interesting. I am also using a yubikey 5 and I was able to add the yubikey as a passkey so looks like that works. I’m not sure why but I can’t do it on my linux system? So maybe adding hardware key support might help fill that gap for linux users. Thanks for the heads up though

As noted, we should already have this as part of Webauthn support. It would be nice to debug if the current implementation has flags that linux requires that may not be offered.

Well guys here I am adding even more confusion to the whole ordeal…

I just tested my Yubikey on Brave Browser (flatpak) and Firefox (dev edition, from the repos) on Linux and it works great… don’t think it’s a Linux issue.

I’m on Arch (btw) if that helps.
