Feature Request: Cloaked PURLs

Hey gang!!

LOVE omg.lol! I was wondering, is it possible to add a cloaked link option to PURLs so that the address bar stays on the url.lol link instead of showing the long links i may be shortening? it would look so nice! Plz let me know, thank uuuuu. :sparkles:

That’s a really cool idea, and I can think of a bunch of ways to have some fun with that, but unfortunately I can also think of a bunch more ways that it could be pretty disastrous. Not only would it open the door to cross-frame scripting attacks, but it would also create a solid environment for phishing attacks and other types of social engineering and manipulation attacks.

I never want to be the guy who takes the fun out of stuff, but these kinds of web vulnerabilities are the reason why browser security has tightened up so much over the past decade. At this point, I suspect that most of the sites that you’d try to cloak wouldn’t even allow themselves to be loaded in frames anyway, which would make the cloaking impossible in the first place.

I know this isn’t the answer you wanted, but I hope the explanation makes sense at least!
