Is there any recommended procedure to embed a YouTube video on a weblog post? When using Hugo or Wordpress, I’m used to typing shortcodes like {{ youtube VIDEO_ID }}, which get automatically converted to the embed code.
This question came up when I was looking for the embed code on YouTube site and couldn’t find it any longer. Do you have any tips? (also, maybe there could be a shortcode to do that on weblog.lol, @adam — makes inquiring face —?)
Have you tried copying the YouTube embed HTML and pasting it directly in the markdown file? Probably won’t work because Adam probably escapes that HTML but it’s worth a try.
I don’t know about weblog posts but I’m using loads of inline JavaScript tags on my profile page, so I don’t think that’s the case.
I actually did it later, and it worked 
… it’s just that it had been quite a while since I last used the HTML embed code on a page and, since then, the place to find it has changed…
There’s probably a way to use embedded JS on weblog posts too. It just doesn’t occur me how to do so, as I’m not a technical person.
I think the <script> tag should work
