I wonder if we could have a “the lounge” instance for the omg.lol community. To allow omg.lol members to use the omg.lol IRC server on the web (without needing to install or pay for any third party apps).
We had one for a while, but it proved to be a bit inefficient for widespread use. It’s a great single-user solution for folks who want to host their own free client, but in practice as a centralized service it doesn’t scale very well at all. Once I realized that I’d have to constantly upgrade hardware to meet the demand of concurrent connections, I had to cut that particular experiment short, sadly. It’s a very nice client, but just isn’t engineered for larger groups of people to use a single instance.
We could set up a classic browser instance, though

@nicolas i’m alright, thank you though. And i also would like to let you know that this is meant as a thing for the whole omg.lol community, allowing it to be more easily integrated with the rest of the omg.lol services (or that’s the idea behind my suggestion though).
